APNHR 2026 Conference

The Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research Conference 2026 (APNHR 2026) will be held in Bali, Indonesia, on 5–7 October 2026, under the theme “Navigating Asia-Pacific Housing Futures: Financialization, Technology, Governance, and Climate Action.” The conference provides a forum for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, students, and civil society actors to discuss how housing systems across the Asia-Pacific are being reshaped by financialization, digital technologies, governance transformations, and climate-related risks.

APNHR 2026 welcomes empirical, theoretical, methodological, and policy-oriented contributions from multiple disciplines concerned with housing, urban development, spatial planning, climate resilience, and social justice in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference aims to support knowledge exchange, comparative research, and practical dialogue for more just, inclusive, and resilient housing futures.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit an abstract for oral paper presentation or poster presentation. All submissions must be original, must not involve plagiarism, and must not be under review elsewhere in identical form. By submitting an abstract, authors confirm that all listed co-authors have agreed to the submission and that the work complies with relevant ethical standards in research and publication.

Each submission must include:

• Paper title
• Abstract of no more than 300 words
• One primary subject area
• Presentation category: paper presentation or poster presentation
• 3–5 keywords
• Country or case study location
• Author details and affiliations

Full paper upload is optional at the abstract submission stage and may be requested after acceptance. Authors must select exactly one primary subject area. The Scientific Committee may reclassify submissions into another subject area to support the review process and conference programme balance.

Paper Categories

1. Paper presentations are intended for research that presents clear objectives, theoretical or conceptual framing, methodology, findings, and implications for housing research, policy, or practice.
2. Poster presentations are intended for ongoing research, emerging ideas, case studies, practice-based reflections, or early-stage findings that can contribute to discussion on housing issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
